The Conway County Conservation District recently hosted its annual Farm Safety Day at the farm of Jerry and Lenda Scroggin.
More than 300 third-graders from the South Conway County School District, Wonderview School District and Nemo Vista School District participated in the event, which included 13 educational stations and an opportunity to fish at the pond on the farm.
Groups making educational presentations included the Office of Emergency Management, KARK Channel 4, Arkansas Forestry Commission, UA Extension Service, Conway County Conservation District, Arkansas Farm Bureau, the Conway County Sheriff’s Office, Arkansas Game and Fish Commission, Morrilton Fire Department and Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS). Lenda Scroggin taught about safety on her farm and horse safety.
