14 Feb 2024 Dingman, Bommes set UCA records in track and field
PITTSBURG, Kan. – The University of Central Arkansas Bears Men’s and Women’s Track & Field teams went to Pittsburg State last weekend for the 9th Annual Indoor Gorilla Classic.
The Bears broke two UCA records, earned 17 top-10 finishes and set 19 personal records.
Breaking the UCA record previously set by him, Jack Dingman placed first in the men’s Mile with a time of 4:04.72.
Breaking the UCA record, Anna Bommes placed ninth in the 800m with a time of 2:14.40.
Davin James placed first in the women’s High Jump with a jump of 1.68m (5-6.25).
Sophia Schrader placed first in the Pole Vault with a jump of 3.60m (11-9.75).
Sara Steimel placed first in the women’s 5000m with a time of 17:24.54.

In the women’s Weight Throw, Kiara Williams finished 13th with a throw of 15.88m (52-1.0). Joia Perry was close behind in 14th with a throw of 15.70m (51-6.0) and Joelle Stewart finished 15th with a throw of 15.70m (51-6.0). Serena Degollado finished 27th with a throw of 14.62m (48-0.0), Joy Nance finished 31st with a throw of 14.15m (46-5.0), and Jalyn Akins finished 36th with a throw of 13.28m (43-7.0).
Aidan Patton placed fifth in the men’s Weight Throw with a throw of 20.00m (65-7.0). Jaden Schneeberger was close behind in seventh with a throw of 18.63m (61-1.0) and Treavor Green finished 15th with a throw of 16.49m (54.1.0).

In the women’s Long Jump, Natalie Louw finished 11th with a jump of 5.47m (17-11.25). Karis Martin finished 20th with a jump of 5.37m (17-7.5) and Savannah Carrigan finished 28th with a jump of 5.15m (16-10.75).
In the men’s Long Jump, Bryson Bailey finished 29th with a jump of 6.30m (20-8.0).

In the women’s Shot Put, Kiara Williams finished 12th with a throw of 12.89m (42-3.5). Miranda Nichols finished 17th with a throw of 12.04m (39-6.0), Joy Nance finished 23rd with a throw of 11.64m (38-2.25), and Joelle Stewart finished 31st with a throw of 10.83m (35-6.5).
In the men’s Shot Put, Aidan Patton finished 14th with a throw of 15.39m (50-6.0). Jaden Schneeberger finished 25th with a throw of 14.53m (47-8.0).
In the women’s High Jump, Natalie Louw finished tenth with a jump of 1.61m (5-3.5).
In the men’s Triple Jump, Michael Griffin finished 18th with a jump of 13.35m (43-9.5).

Kobe Gill placed first in the 60m dash prelims with a time of 6.89. Kristopher Hayes finished 35th with a time of 7.10 and Bryson Bailey finished 64th with a time of 7.33.
In the women’s Distance Medley relay, the UCA team consisting of Jewel Baer, Ashlyn Floyd, Alexis Frick, and Ali Nachtigal finished tenth with a time of 12:22.89.
In the men’s 200m, Kristopher Hayes finished 37th with a time of 22.66.
In the women’s 200m, Madisyn Crandall finished 50th with a time of 26.48.
In the men’s 5000m, Thomas Cain finished tenth with a time of 14:44.54.
Sara Steimel placed first in the women’s 5000m with a time of 17:24.54.
Day 2
In the men’s 3000m, Gavin Frick finished 20th with a time of 8:39.39. Carlos Hernandez finished 45th with a time of 9:03.93.
Madeline Hill placed fourth in the women’s 3000m with a time of 10:03.24. Ali Nachtigal was close behind with a time of 10:03.97 to place fifth. Felisa Saheib finished 13th with a time of 10:15.19, Sequoya Prentice finished 16th with a time of 10:24.31, and Alexis Frick finished 26th with a time of 10:38.23.
In the women’s 60m hurdles prelims, Madisyn Crandall finished 15th with a time of 9.11. Kylie Wright finished 22nd with a time of 9.23.

In the women’s 4x400m relay, the UCA team consisting of Grace Deshotels, Raghan Allen, Kamaria Russell, and Kendelle McCoy placed fifth with a time of 3:50.56.
