15 Sep 2012 Deadline approaching for 'Spice of LIFE' Recipe Contest
501 LIFE readers have a unique opportunity to show off their cooking and baking skills.
The Hole in the Wall Cafe and 501 LIFE are teaming up to sponsor a recipe contest. Winners will receive a prize and have their creations added to the restaurant’s menu.
Entries are being sought in three categories – entrée, vegetable and dessert. The top three recipes in each category will be prepared by the restaurant staff for judging by a panel of celebrity chefs.
Entries will be judged on taste, customer appeal and ability to produce the dish in large quantities.
“We’re looking for good, ‘down home’ flavors,” said Toni Burrows, co-owner of the restaurant. “We pride ourselves on quality recipes that taste like home. We are always looking for ways to satisfy our customers, so we are turning to local outstanding cooks to give us some new ideas”
Winners will be featured in the December issue of 501 LIFE. Their photo will also be displayed at The Hole in the Wall, and they will receive a $75 gift certificate to the restaurant.
Entries can be submitted at the restaurant and at the 501 office. They can also be mailed to 501 LIFE, 701 Chestnut St., Conway AR 72032; or sent by email to [email protected].
The deadline to enter is Friday, Sept. 28.
