Daffodil Daze names winners in art contest

Winners in this year’s Daffodil Daze Art Contest were recently recognized during a reception in their honor at Art on the Green.

This year’s contest generated 153 entries from homeschool students as well as public schools in Conway, Greenbrier and Vilonia. There were also entries from The Art School of Conway and Blackbird Academy.

Winners:

9th-12th

1 – Skylar Glover, 17, is a junior and a student at The Art School of Conway.
2 – Lauren McHenry, 17, is a student at Vilonia High School.
3 – Rebekah Turner, 17, is an 11th grade homeschool student.

5th-8th

1 – Cassidy Bates, seventh-grader at Carl Stuart Middle School (Conway).
2 – Tabby Ardoin, a fifth-grader at Greenbrier Westside.
3 – Katherine Myers, 11, is a fifth-grade homeschool student at Blackbird Academy.

K-4th

1 – Mackenzie Smith, 10, a fourth-grader at Marguerite Vann (Conway).
2 – Liam Johnson is a student at Greenbrier Westside Elementary.
3 – Eric Matute, 8, is a second-grader at Ellen Smith (Conway).

Each winner received a bag with prizes and a certificate.

The winning artwork was displayed for several weeks after the reception at Art on the Green, located in Littleton Park, 1100 Bob Courtway, Suite 1, in East Conway.

The contest was sponsored by Art on the Green, First Security Bank and 501 LIFE.

“The judges had a tough time naming winners as there were so many great submissions,” said 501 LIFE editor/publisher Sonja J. Keith. “We want to thank Art on the Green and First Security Bank for their support of the contest.”
