Crow Construction recognized

Superintendent John Dunn and Project Manager Eric Ryan accept the Eagle Award for their work on a Blanchard Springs project.

Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC) of Arkansas announced that Crow Construction’s work on the Blanchard Springs Visitor Center Improvements earned the company first place in the category of Federal Government / Military in ABC’s Excellence in Construction awards competition. Crow Construction was recognized in April during the annual “Excellence in Construction” celebration at The John Q. Hammonds Convention Center in Rogers.

Project Manager Eric Ryan and Superintendent John Dunn accepted the Eagle Award for their work on the Blanchard Springs project. In 2017, planners for the Ozark – St. Francis National Forest engaged Crow Construction to make improvements to the approaching roads, parking areas and visitor center entrance plaza at the Blanchard Springs Caverns. The design-build project was delivered early and under budget.

Crow Construction engaged Crafton Tull Engineers and Architects as their design team partner and developed a plan keeping visitor safety and pedestrian safety at the forefront during the design and construction process.

“ABC congratulates Crow Construction for their outstanding work on the Blanchard Springs Visitor Center,” said ABC Arkansas President Bill Roachell. “This project is a true example of exceptional craftsmanship and professionalism that defines merit shop construction. It is an honor for the association to recognize this project with our top construction excellence award.”

Crow President Brian Rohlman said, “We are extremely honored to be recognized by ABC Arkansas for our work on this design-build project, particularly at a time when an increasing number of clients are taking advantage of our design-build delivery method. We believe design-build provides clients with the best value and most efficient project execution, and that is further reinforced by this recognition from the Excellence in Construction award committee.”

ABC Arkansas designed the Excellence in Construction program to recognize excellent performance in the merit shop construction field. The award honors all construction team members, including the contractor, owner, architect and engineer. This year’s competition was open to all construction projects completed by ABC member firms during 2018. The winning projects were selected from entries submitted from across the state and were judged on complexity, attractiveness, unique challenges overcome, completion time, workmanship, innovation, safety and cost.

Crow was also recognized at the banquet for its ongoing efforts in the development of a quality safety program with the ABC Step (Safety Training Evaluation Process) Gold Award. Crow Health Safety and Environmental Director Brandon Baker accepted the award on behalf of the company.
