22 Feb 2016 Conway Symphony to present free children’s concert
The Conway Symphony Orchestra will bring a free children’s event to the Faulkner County Library at 10 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 27.
The CSO for Kids will include performances from brass and string groups, with kid-friendly introductions to the instruments from conductor Izzy Getzov. Following the 30-minute concert, the children in the audience will have a chance to “meet the instruments” and give them a try.
The CSO Guild will provide fun craft activities and tell the story of Romeo and Juliet, as the orchestra prepares for the Saturday, March 5, performance of the music and selected scenes from the play and ballet. Look for Romeo and Juliet themselves from Arkansas Shakespeare Theatre to stop by and say hello.
The CSO is also participating in the Orchestras Feeding America food drive again this spring. Families are invited to bring a non-perishable item to the library event, which will be donated to the Bethlehem House food pantry.
The Conway Symphony Orchestra brings professional concerts, exciting guest artists and high-quality music to the Central Arkansas community. For more information on concerts and other programs, visit ConwaySymphony.org or call 501.269.1066.
