Conway Symphony plans season finale on April 21

The Conway Symphony Orchestra will end its 2018-19 season with “Strings Attached,” an all-strings concert at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, April 21, at Reynolds Performance Hall at the University of Central Arkansas.

“This concert illustrates the full power and art of string music,” said music director and conductor Israel Getzov. “It’s the best of the best!”

As a season finale special, students of any age involved in music programs – orchestra, band, choral or other – can attend for free, and their parents can take advantage of a “buy one, get one” offer. Tell the box office the type of music program when ordering tickets by phone or at the door.

For all other admission, tickets start at $5 for children and students of all ages with ID, $10 for UCA faculty/staff, $15 for groups of 10 or more, and $20-$38 for adults. Contact the box office at 501.450.3265 or at ConwaySymphony.org (adult tickets only online).

With the largest string section they’ve had on the stage, the CSO will perform four selections: the dark and intense “Chamber Symphony Op. 110a” by Dmitri Shostakovich, and the equally murderous music from the movie “Psycho”; contrasted with the uplifting and life-affirming Mozart’s “Divertimento K136,” and the warm and soaring “Holberg Suite” by Edvard Grieg.

The Conway Symphony Orchestra brings professional concerts, exciting guest artists and high-quality music to the Central Arkansas community.  For more information on concerts and other programs, visit ConwaySymphony.org or call 501.269.1066.
