Conway Regional welcomes Nix as new hospitalist

Kasey Nix, MD, has joined Conway Regional Health System as a hospitalist.

A Family Medicine specialist, Nix began practice on July 17.

Nix completed a residency and medical degree from the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences in Little Rock. He also holds a bachelor’s degree in biology from the University of Central Arkansas, which is part of what led him back to Conway.

"Dr. Nix is an excellent addition and asset to our team," said Conway Regional Chief of Staff Greg Kendrick, who serves as the medical director for the hospitalist program. “Adding an 11th hospitalist will allow us to continue to grow our program and meet the community’s needs of ensuring high quality access to health care."

“My wife and I came to Conway in 2006; I attended four years at UCA, and enjoyed living in Conway then,” said Nix. “We always considered coming back, and when the opportunity presented itself, we felt it would be a great place to raise our family.”

Nix and his wife, Samantha, have three children. Nix chose to be a physician because “medicine is a way for me to take what otherwise can be abstract information, and use it to impact others’ lives in a tangible, beneficial way.”

Hospitalists provide care for patients exclusively when they are in the hospital and do not have a private practice of their own. Conway Regional has 12 providers on its hospitalist team.
