24 Apr 2017 Conway Regional Health expanding Vilonia services

Conway Regional is expanding its services in Vilonia by welcoming Charles Himmler, DO, and the staff of Himmler Medical Clinic to the Conway Regional Primary Care Network.  

The clinic is the second primary care clinic owned and operated by Conway Regional in Vilonia. Conway Regional acquired Vilonia Medical Clinic, the practice of Gina McNew, MD, in January 2015. Long-term plans call for the two clinics to be combined into a single location; however, construction for the expanded clinic is not expected to be complete until 2018.

The name of Himmler Medical Clinic will change to Conway Regional Medical Clinic-Vilonia. Himmler’s practice will remain at the current location at 1159 Main St., and patients should not expect any changes to how and where care is provided.

“This is good news for the Vilonia community. This is an opportunity for Conway Regional to expand the overall health care services that are available to the community. We want to assure patients at both clinics that no immediate changes will be made to where they will receive care. Patients of Dr. Himmler will continue to receive care at this clinic; the same with Dr. McNew,” said Alan Finley, chief operating officer at Conway Regional. “As we move forward, plans call for adding primary care and specialty services in Vilonia that will complement the outstanding care already provided by Dr. Himmler and Dr. McNew.”

Finley added, “Our management role will also give Dr. Himmler more time to focus exclusively on providing excellent health care to the community. We are very pleased to add a physician of Dr. Charles Himmler’s immense experience to our primary care network.”

Himmler has more than 37 years of experience as a family medicine physician. He holds a doctor of osteopathic medicine degree from Kansas College of Osteopathic Medicine and completed an internship at Eisenhower Hospital in New Jersey. He is certified by the American Osteopathic Association and the American Academy of Family Physicians.

The clinic is located at 1159 Main St. in Vilonia. Office hours are 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday, and 8:30 a.m. to noon on Wednesday.
