Conway Regional CFO to lead national board

The Healthcare Financial Management Association (HFMA) — the nation’s largest and leading member organization for healthcare finance professionals — has elected Steven P. Rose, FHFMA, CPA, as chairman of its board of directors for the 2013-2014 term.

Rose is the first Arkansan ever elected to this board in the organization’s history.  His term officially began in June.  

The HFMA has more than 39,000 chief financial officers and other healthcare executives among its members. The organization provides the resources healthcare organizations need to achieve the sound fiscal health necessary to provide excellent patient care.

Rose, a Greenbrier resident, is the chief financial officer at Conway Regional Health System. A Fellow of HFMA and a certified public accountant, Rose holds a bachelor of science degree in accounting from Arkansas State University at Jonesboro.

“Steve has proven time and again that he can drive important results both for his health system and for HFMA,” said Joseph J. A member of HFMA since 1985, Rose’s involvement with the National Association has included serving on the Regional Executives Council (Chair 2009-2010), the National Advisory Councils, serving on the Board of Directors, the Executive Committee, the Audit and Finance Committee (Chair 2011-2012), the Strategic Planning Committee and the Healthcare Leadership Council (Chair 2012-2013). He has also served the Arkansas Chapter of HFMA as director, secretary, treasurer, president-elect and president. He has received the Follmer Bronze, Reeves Silver, Muncie Gold and Medal of Honor merit awards.

Conway Regional Health System provides complete health care services to the growing communities of north Central Arkansas, centered on a 154-bed acute care medical center.
