21 Oct 2013 Conway Public Schools Orchestra hosts fundraiser
The Conway Public Schools Orchestra’s "La Fiesta Orquesta" Taco Supper Fundraiser will be held from 5 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 18, at Conway High School.
The fundraiser dinner will be served in the new Conway High School cafeteria while orchestras from six Conway campuses (Bob Courtway, Carl Stuart, Ruth Doyle and Simon middle schools, Conway Junior High and Conway High School) will perform music from today’s popular culture and yesterday’s favorite classics in Buzz Bolding Arena. Also featured, on the second floor of Buzz Bolding Arena, will be a silent auction.
The "La Fiesta Orquesta" Dinner and Silent Auction are the orchestra’s main fundraiser, with all proceeds going to the orchestra program which has more than 250 students under the direction of three full-time faculty.
Funds raised provide music camp and private lesson scholarships and help pay for awards, trips to national symphonies and performances at out-of-state competitions.
The public is invited and encouraged to attend. Enjoy the free concerts and show your support for the Conway Public School Orchestras! Dinner tickets – which are $9 for adults and $5 for children under 12 – may be purchased at the door.
