13 Apr 2015 Conway orchestra students earn top honors at competition
The Conway High School Orchestra recently traveled to Dallas to participate in the Choice Music Events Lone Star Showcase. Their performance was adjudicated by a panel of music educators who offered feedback and ranked all the groups that played that weekend.
The orchestra had the privilege of performing on the Meyerson Symphony Hall stage, one of America’s finest acoustic venues and home of the Dallas Symphony Orchestra.
The Conway students earned a Superior division rating, the highest possible, and in addition earned the distinctions as “Best in Class” and “Overall Outstanding Performance” for the weekend out of all the bands, choirs and orchestras that performed.
While in Texas, they also attended a Fort Worth Symphony concert at Bass Performance Hall in Downtown Fort Worth, and celebrated their successful trip at Six Flags Over Texas.
