Conway Noon Rotary recognizes St. Joseph students

The St. Joseph High School Interact Club was recently recognized by the Conway Noon Rotary Club for exceptional sales of Christmas wreaths.

St. Joseph High School Interact Club members and Conway Noon Rotary Club members are Kate Nabholz (from left), Chairwoman Lily Vaughn, Bailey Pope, Treasurer John Albritton, President Sarah Shaw, Ella Rose, Izzie Garrett, Gabe Washum and Leif Westmoreland.

Each year, Interact Club students sell wreaths and receive part of the proceeds to donate to school and charitable causes. In 2024, 170 Christmas wreaths were delivered and St. Joseph students sold 120 of them. They were presented a check for $1,650 by Rotary Club President Sarah Shaw and Treasurer John Albritton at Larry’s Pizza, and the students were also treated to lunch.

In past years, the St. Joseph club has used monies earned from fundraisers to pay for school needs such as senior class athletic banners, weight room equipment, picnic tables and championship rings. The student-led organization also makes an annual donation to Haven, a residential treatment program for adolescent females in foster care.

The Interact Club is sponsored by the Noon Rotary Club to introduce the goals of Rotary International to students in the hope that they will continue with the organization beyond high school. Rotary’s mission is to “advance goodwill and promote integrity and peace.”
