Conway Men’s Chorus will exercise their voices at free concert

The Conway Men’s Chorus will perform a spectacular Holiday Concert at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 3, at Reynolds Performance Hall on the University of Central Arkansas campus. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. There is no cost to park or to attend the concert.

“This may be the largest number of men to ever perform,” said Mike McCullars, spokesperson for the Conway Men’s Chorus. “That’s about twice the number who performed approximately 25 years ago when the chorus began.

“I encourage attendees to arrive by 6:40 p.m. at the latest because parking is always a premium, and we have grown to have 725 to 750 people in attendance,” McCullars said. There is plenty of seating to accommodate the crowd.

There will be many traditional favorites, along with modern hits that are popular during the season. The Chorus Music Director is Jordan Bennett, and Paul Bradley will return as accompanist, playing a beautiful grand piano. He has performed more than 30 concerts with the group.

Men of all ages and abilities are welcome to join the choir for the spring concert. Typically, they practice at Woodland Heights Baptist Church, and the concerts are performed at Reynold’s. The rehearsal schedule will be published at conwaymenschorus.org.

Conway Corp’s camera crew will record the concert again this year and place it on YouTube so it can be enjoyed by those who are unable to attend and to be shared with family members around the country. There is more information on their Facebook page.
