21 Jan 2013 Conway Men's Chorus rehearsals under way
Rehearsals for the Conway Men’s Chorus will get under way Monday, Feb. 4, at Woodland Heights Baptist Church on Prince Street at Hogan Lane.
The group has been performing since 1998, and Reynolds Performance Hall on the campus of the University of Central Arkansas has become the favorite venue.
Chorus director Sam Husky will be introducing new and proven concert pieces as rehearsals Rehearsals are designed for busy men, as they meet in the choir room for one hour beginning at 6 o’clock. Paul Bradley is piano accompanist.
Some of the pieces the men will be working on for the April 30 concert include “Homeland,” “We Rise Again,” “O Lux Beatissima,” “Deep River,” “Sing Me to Heaven,” “Walking in Memphis,” “Loch Lomond” (a new version) and “Battle Hymn of the Republic.”
Men of varying levels of musical ability are invited to become a part of this Spring 2013 concert, according to CMC President Mike McCullars. “We are seeing more and more men become regulars as the group increases in quality and size. And, we have a lot of fun,” he added.
