Conway library plans book-signing

Local author Connie Halter will have a book-signing at the Faulkner County Library at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday, June 15.

Halter is the author of “In Another Time,” the story of a mismatched couple, their unhappy marriage and the different ways they attempt to cope with the poverty and dysfunction in which they are immersed. This is a snapshot of time, a picture of growing up poor in the rural South in the turbulent middle of the 20th century.

Connie McKinley Halter was born in Heber Springs, and has lived in Arkansas, New York, Indiana and California. She currently resides in Conway, and she has five children, nine grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren. She is a nature lover and an animal advocate. Her passions are writing and reading, and she is a former member of the Poets’ Roundtable of Arkansas. She has published several books of poetry, as well as articles on politics, current events and animal rights.

She holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Central Arkansas. She worked for many years at CHDC, and is now retired and enjoying creative writing.
