15 Apr 2013 Conway County School Counts! honors 2013 graduates
The Conway County School Counts! Foundation will honor its 2013 graduates in a ceremony at Morrilton High School at 9 a.m. Friday, April 19.
Matt Zimmerman, assistant coach of the Arkansas Razorback men’s basketball team, will be the guest speaker.
Zimmerman graduated from Wonderview High School, one of the four Conway County high schools that participate in the School Counts! Initiative.
The School Counts! graduates, their parents, area government officials, and special guests – eighth grade students from the counties’ schools – will attend.
School Counts! is a grassroots organization that provides encouragement, information and financial incentive to Conway County graduating seniors to gain additional education after high school. The initiative was formed to impact the local workforce by increasing the percentage of students seeking educational opportunities above high school graduation.
Financial incentives are available for students desiring to attend the University of Arkansas Community College at Morrilton that have met the School Counts criteria of quality, attendance, persistence and goal setting. The School Counts! counselor works with students in all Conway County schools in grades K – 12 as well as parents.
