Conway Corporation grants 'wish'

Conway Corporation employees recently donated to grant a wish through the Make-a-Wish Foundation and surprised 5-year-old Olivia and her family with a trip to the Walt Disney World Resort in Florida.

Olivia and her family arrived at the Conway Corporation business office, where she was greeted with a half dozen Conway Corporation employees dressed as Disney characters including her favorite, Minnie Mouse. She was in for an even bigger shock when Minnie Mouse told her that her wish to visit Disney World had been granted and that she and her family would be leaving next week for the theme park. That afternoon, Olivia was treated to a party complete with presents, cake and other goodies.

“Volunteering is one of the great things about being a local company. Our employees not only care about our customers, but about the community we all share,” said Conway Corporation CEO Richard Arnold. “I am proud to be a part of our great community and very proud to work with such a generous group of people.”

According to a study conducted by Make-A-Wish America, 95 percent or more of volunteers and wish parents agreed that a wish experience contributes to improvements in wish children’s mental and emotional health by producing a positive outlook characterized by hope, joy and happiness.

“Conway Corporation is a local company, making a difference in the life of a child in their own community,” said Ev Kent, development coordinator for Make-A-Wish Mid-South. “Olivia had such an amazing day and it was all because of the generosity of Conway Corporation’s employees. That is one of the great things about sponsoring a wish – the employees actually get to see how their hard work and generosity benefit a child with a life-threatening medical condition.”
