27 Jun 2016 Conway Corp workers earn networking accreditation

SCADA and Network Systems Administrator Zach Leach and Broadband Services Technician Brandon McNew recently earned networking accreditation from the Cisco Career Certification program.

Both Leach and McNew participated in a seven-day accelerated, in-depth course that helps IT professionals build a foundation in and knowledge of networking.

At the end of the course, each passed exams to be accredited as a Cisco Certified Entry Level Networking Technician (CCENT) and a Cisco Certified Networking Associate in routing and switching (CCNA).

“Zach and Brandon spent countless hours studying and performing lab work before successfully passing the exams,” said Roy Grubb, manager, network operations. “All Conway Corp staff that implement and maintain the internal or customer facing routing and switched networks are Cisco certified at multiple levels and I believe that assures our customers that we will be capable of delivering a stable, well maintained service.”

The CCENT serves as a starting point for working in networking and certifies that Leach and McNew can install, configure and operate local area network (LAN), wide area network (WAN) and dial access services for small networks.

The CCNA is a more prestigious certification and validates the two can install, configure, operate and troubleshoot medium-size routed and switched networks, including the implementation and verification of connections to remote sizes in a WAN.
