18 May 2026 Conway Corp employees participate in broadband training challenge
Conway Corp Telecom employees recently participated in the hands-on Broadband Skills Championship Training Challenge sponsored by the Society of Cable Telecommunications Engineers (SCTE) Razorback Chapter at the Mid-America Cable Show in Kansas City last month.

The interactive training event was designed to help technicians strengthen their technical abilities in a collaborative, low-pressure environment while preparing for future Broadband Championship competitions.
Formerly known as the Cable-Tec Games, the Broadband Skills Championship Training Challenge features mock competition scenarios that mirror real-world technical challenges.
Participants complete practical exercises focused on troubleshooting, installation and system performance while earning valuable training experience and opportunities for collaboration.
Employees also received one-on-one coaching and feedback throughout the event to help refine their techniques and improve performance.
“The Broadband Skills Championship Training Challenge gives our team a chance to sharpen their skills and build confidence in a supportive environment,” Conway Corp Cable Telecommunication Systems Manager Tommy Nolen said. “It’s a great opportunity for our technicians to learn from one another while continuing to improve the level of service we provide to our customers.”
Telecom Business Class Services Technician 2 Lane McNew earned first place in the training challenge after demonstrating strong troubleshooting abilities, technical knowledge and overall performance throughout the competition exercises. McNew competed against fellow technicians in a series of hands-on scenarios designed to test real-world broadband installation and maintenance skills.
“Lane represented Conway Corp extremely well during the challenge,” Nolen said. “His attention to detail, problem-solving skills and dedication to learning continue to make him a valuable member of our telecom team.”
Lead Telecom Installer Technician Wesley Manion competed in the challenge.
In addition to technical development, the event promotes teamwork and knowledge sharing among participants, helping strengthen overall department performance. By simulating competition conditions, employees gain valuable experience that prepares them to represent Conway Corp in future Broadband Championship events.SCTE is a nonprofit professional association dedicated to advancing technology, standards and workforce education for the cable telecommunications industry.
