Two Conway Corp employees recently earned special certifications.

Brent Garren, an employee at Conway Corp, recently earned the Broadband Transport Specialist (BTS) certification from the Society of Cable Telecommunications Engineers (SCTE).

Cable Installer Brent Garren recently received the Broadband Transport Specialist (BTS) certification from the Society of Cable Telecommunications Engineers (SCTE) after completing required course work and a final exam.

The BTS certification describes the proficiency of the specialist to transport optical signals through the entirety of the network, conduct tests and maintenance on systems, work with optical equipment and assist construction practices, considerations and safety

“Brent’s current role is to lead and assist in the field as a Lead Maintenance Technician for the cable department,” said CATV Training Coordinator Tommy Nolen. “Brent has demonstrated his dedication to excellence and to providing the best service to Conway Corp’s customers.”

The SCTE is a global leader for telecommunication education and training programs that meet the ever-changing cable industry. The Broadband Premises Installation and Service course was developed in collaboration with the industry’s top technical professionals and cable operators. The training is nationally recognized by the cable telecommunications industry and helps individuals interested in working for a cable provider.

Garren will now work toward earning the Broadband TelecomCenter Specialist certification, the highest level of certification available for broadband technicians.

Conway Corp cable installer James Buggs has earned the Business Class Services Specialist (BCSS) certification from the Society of Cable Telecommunications Engineers (SCTE) after completing required course work and a final exam.

The BCSS certification describes the knowledge of an experienced technician who will perform business-level installations for small to medium business customers. Successful candidates have the knowledge to install and troubleshoot as required to repair or restore the customer’s business service.

“James is a dedicated employee who always puts the customer first,” Nolen said. “This SCTE certification ensures that he has the knowledge and confidence to continue to provide our business customers with excellent quality service.”
