Conway Christian considering program for learning challenged

Conway Christian School and the Committee for Options in Education (COE) have begun conversations that could potentially lead to the establishment of a Conway-based school for children with learning challenges.

The COE is a recently organized parent organization that has grown frustrated with the lack of opportunity for their children. “It is clear to Conway Christian that this is a very real need in our community, and we, at this early stage of discussion, are simply expressing our interest in understanding how CCS might play a positive role in the lives of many local children and their families” said CCS President and CEO Richard W. Henley. “CCS has already taken significant steps within our school to be able to better assist some of our current students who face challenges, but these ongoing discussions could lead to something with far more widespread benefits.”

Committee for Options in Education leader Susan Beasley said, “We see a huge need for a new educational facility in Conway and recognize that Conway Christian School may be able to facilitate this becoming a reality sooner rather than later. We are excited about the possibilities.”
