Conway BPW creates 501 LIFE scholarship

Applications are being accepted for the 501 LIFE Scholarship, which will be awarded to a non-traditional female student attending a college/university/technical school in the 501 area code. Preference will be given to a non-traditional student (25 or older) whose education was interrupted by a life-altering event (marriage, divorce or death of a spouse, children or sickness) or to a woman who is returning or starting school for the first time in preparation of career opportunities.

The application must be accompanied by sealed recommendation forms from three references, an essay outlining educational and professional goals including community involvement, a current college transcript and proof of registration for the Fall 2010 term.
Applications are due Wednesday, Sept. 15, and should be mailed to Conway BPW, P.O. Box 194, 813 Oak St., 10A, Conway, AR 72032.

The scholarship will be presented to the recipient at the September Conway BPW meeting. Scholarship information is available at Central Baptist College, Hendrix College, University of Arkansas Community College at Morrilton and the University of Central Arkansas.
