Community Support Rally on Aug. 20

Several area churches are teaming up to present a Community Support Rally at 7 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 20, at Conway High School. The event is designed to show support for teachers, students and parents as they prepare to head back to school.  Whether the students are attending in person or doing school from home, organizers want them to know they have prayers and support.

“This is similar to the park and pray events that happened at the beginning of COVID,” said Stephanie Crockett, one of the organizers. “The coolest thing is that several area churches are coming together to make this happen.”

Y-107 is broadcasting from the rally and Centennial Bank is the lead sponsor.

“This is a countywide event,” said Stephanie. “While Y-107 will be broadcasting from Conway, there will be other rallies at Greenbrier and other areas.”

On Friday morning, churches have adopted schools in the county to have a prayer march outside the school to pray for teachers and students as they begin the school year.
