Community asked to help ‘Fill the Boot’

Conway firefighters – with the help of the local community – are once again reaching out to help families in need during the holidays during the 14th annual “Fill the Boot” campaign.

Beginning the day after Thanksgiving, off-duty firefighters and their families will be in parking lots at several locations to accept donations – 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. Friday; 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 26, Dec. 3 and Dec. 10.

Conway collection locations include Conway Commons, Conway Towne Center, Kroger on Salem Road and Hasting’s/First Security Bank parking lot on Highway 64/Old Morrilton Hwy. Donations will also be accepted in Vilonia at Highways 64 and 107.

In addition, collection boots have been placed in businesses throughout the Conway area, including the 501 LIFE office at 701 Chestnut St. in Downtown Conway.

The location that collects the most donations will receive a traveling trophy and be featured in 501 LIFE. Last year, the Centennial Bank location on Salem Road collected the most money.

Toys will also be collected as part of Fill the Boot at Salon Cortilo on Washington Avenue; Jerry Borden/Edward Jones office on Bob Courtway Drive; Cut Above Salon on Chestnut; and the 501 LIFE office.

Monetary donations can also be mailed to Conway Firefighters Fill the Boot, P.O. Box. 2367, Conway, AR 72033. For more information, please email [email protected].
