At the event, designers randomly picked the space they would be assigned in the house, which is under construction by Luke Porter at 1120 Reynolds Ave. at the Village. The designer house will run Friday, Oct. 17, through Saturday, Oct. 25.

Dr. Mary Mosley, president of the symphony guild, welcomed guests and explained the importance of the designer house. She also introduced this year’s designer house co-chairmen, Lindsay Henderson and Julie Adkisson.

(See the July issue of 501 LIFE for a complete list of the designers and room selections.)

Organizers are selling grand tour tickets for $100 each, which includes a special invitation to the preview event, designer house run of show, a design class, a cooking class and two tickets to the grand finale.
