City Year announces first-ever Rock Your Red Event April 17

LITTLE ROCK — City Year will host the first-ever Rock Your Red on April 17 to celebrate its 20th Anniversary. Proceeds will support its dual mission of advancing academic outcomes for all Central Arkansas students and developing the next generation of leaders through national service. Individual tickets for $75 and event sponsorships are available for purchase here

“City Year’s two decades of impact in Central Arkansas simply wouldn’t be possible without the community’s unwavering support,” said senior vice president and executive director Jennifer Cobb. “Hosting this party is a fitting and fun way to celebrate past achievements and collectively recommit to providing opportunities for young people to thrive, both in the classroom and their future careers.”

A new twist on City Year’s annual spring fundraiser, Rock Your Red is scheduled for Thursday, April 17 from 5:30 to 9 p.m. at The Hall at 721 W 9th Street in Little Rock. It will include live music from the Rodney Block Collective and entertainment by Jacksonville North Pulaski School District and Little Rock School District bands, cheer teams, choirs and dancers. Attendees will enjoy delicious food, drinks and birthday cake.  Rock Your Red will feature a short program with tributes to 20 years of Red Jacket honorees, the annual Susan Purvis Excellence in Teaching Award presentation and inspiring stories from City Year AmeriCorps members. Individual tickets for $75 include food, dessert and two drinks. Additional details are available here.
