Christmas in July: Honoring heroes early with Wreaths Across America

Every December, thousands of volunteers across the nation come together for Wreaths Across America, a powerful event dedicated to honoring and remembering the brave men and women who served our country with dedication, honor and courage.

“At First Service Bank, this tradition holds a special place in our hearts — and each year, we proudly join in this effort to ensure that no fallen hero is ever forgotten,” said Ireland Green, marketing assistant of First Service Bank.

“Through Wreaths Across America, we strive to ensure that a wreath is placed on the grave of every fallen hero — a small but meaningful gesture that symbolizes remembrance, gratitude and respect for their sacrifice. These wreaths serve as a visual reminder that the legacies of these men and women continue to live on.”

In partnership with Operation Red, White & Brave (ORWB), the team at First Service Bank has a mission to help fulfill this purpose year after year. The bank is asking the public to donate wreaths, which are $17 each. Donations are tax-deductible.  In the past, the bank’s goal was to sponsor 1,000 wreaths across veterans’ graves in Arkansas cemeteries. But this year, their goal is to sponsor 2,000 wreaths. First Service Bank will match the total amount raised dollar for dollar and donate it to the ORWB Foundation. “We need your help to make it happen,” Ireland said.

Money donated in Arkansas stays in the state to honor Arkansas’s fallen heroes and their families.
