Childcare now available at Community School of Cleburne County, open house is Aug. 1

HEBER SPRINGS — The Community School of Cleburne County is now accepting referrals for a limited number of children in its preschool program. The preschool program will begin Aug. 1, and vouchers are accepted. CSOCC will also host its back-to-school event at 3 p.m. at 74 Cleburne Park Rd. in Heber Springs on Aug. 1.

Dawn Dill, development director of CSOCC, is available to enroll preschool students throughout Cleburne, Faulkner, Van Buren, Stone, Independence and White Counties. For more information, contact Dill at [email protected] or 501-362-0943.

For more than 30 years, CSOCC has served children in Heber Springs as a pediatric healthcare provider. Today, CSOCC is a Better Beginnings-certified daycare and preschool, and the integrated center is innovative, progressive and specialized for each child, ensuring their best outcome.

“Our goal is to give each child everything needed to be a successful student and adult,” said Bec Dwyer-Coop, executive director of CSOCC. “We believe all children can meet their highest potential emotionally, socially and physically. We believe in supporting the growth and development of each unique child and insist on every child having an individual learning plan. We also insist on a positive, safe, caring and inclusive environment.”

CSOCC understands a child’s brain absorbs information and develops at a remarkably rapid rate between the ages of six weeks and six years. The school’s cognitive curriculum encourages learning through exploration and enrichment through play while preparing children with all skills needed for kindergarten and beyond. “Our positive behavior model, REACH, lays the groundwork for social and emotional success for a lifetime,” Dwyer-Coop said.

In addition, CSOCC provides preschool childcare, developmental preschool, physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy, and applied behavior analysis for children diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder. It has a low teacher-to-student ratio and accepts both weekly tuition and childcare vouchers. If a child qualifies for intervention or therapy services, CSOCC accepts ARKids and Medicaid and can also help with applying for TEFRA to cover any costs. Because CSOCC understand the cost of childcare is significant for families regardless of income level, it participates in the CCDF program and encourage parents to explore the option of childcare assistance supported by the Arkansas Department of Education.
