28 Oct 2015 Century League to host third annual 5K and Kids 1K

The GFWC Century League of Morrilton will host its third annual 5K run/walk fundraiser at 8 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 21, at the University of Arkansas Community College at Morrilton. A kids 1K fun run will begin at 7:45 a.m.

The Century League 5K will be a ChampionChip timed race. The entry fee is $25 for pre-registration by Friday, Nov. 13, or $30 from Saturday, Nov. 14, through the day of the race. Pre-registered participants are guaranteed to receive a T-shirt. All participants registering after Nov. 13, or on race day, will receive a T-shirt while supplies last.

Race-day registration and check-in starts at 7 a.m. outside the UACCM Plaza and ends promptly at 7:45 a.m. Prizes will be awarded to first, second and third place finishers for both male and female divisions, and additional prizes may be awarded based on participation.

The kids 1K is open to children ages 16 and younger for $15. All participants in the 1K will receive a medal (no T-shirt for the 1K). Children are welcome to participate in both races but must register separately. Please note that parking lots and entrances/exits will be closed for the duration of the 5K. Anyone leaving after the 1K race will need to do so before the start of the 5K immediately following the 1K.

As in previous years, Century League will collect canned goods for the Conway County Care Center’s Harvest of Hope Food Drive on the day of the race. Items may be dropped off at the registration area near The Plaza at UACCM.

All proceeds from the race benefit the Century League’s local projects including a scholarship endowment at UACCM, Christmas gifts for children in need and various other philanthropic activities. The GFWC Century League of Morrilton is a 501(c) 3 nonprofit organization.
