Central Baptist College soccer, volleyball and basketball results

CONWAY — Four Central Baptist College Mustang teams were in action on Oct. 25, with both men’s and women’s soccer in St. Louis for American Midwest Conference matches against Harris-Stowe State, volleyball in Walnut Ridge for an AMC tri-match against both Cottey and Williams Baptist and women’s basketball hosted the Blue Mountain Christian Toppers at A.R. Reddin Fieldhouse.

Here’s how Saturday went down:

WOMEN’S SOCCER – HSSU 10, CBC 0

CBC took two shots and one on goal in the match with Avery Mulloy making five saves. The Mustangs welcome Columbia on Tuesday afternoon for their final home match of the season.

WOMEN’S BASKETBALL – BMCU 80, CBC 52

Raigan Head had 12 points, Cammi Christie grabbed eight rebounds and Addison Hudspeth had two assists as their Mustangs dropped their second straight home game. CBC plays a scrimmage against North Arkansas College in Clinton on Monday before returning to regular season play on Nov. 1 against La. Christian. Tip off from Reddin Fieldhouse is scheduled for 2 p.m.

MEN’S SOCCER – HSSU 2, CBC 0

Two second half HSSU goals made the difference in today’s conference contest. Jasper Gadellaa made one save and CBC had six of their shots turned away. The Mustangs are at home for the penultimate time this season when they face Columbia on Tuesday afternoon.

VOLLEYBALL – CBC 3, COTTEY 1 (MATCH ONE); CBC 3, WBU 1 (MATCH TWO)

Lakyn Johnson had a career-high 19 kills and Avary Smith had an 11-kill, 15-dig double-double in the second straight match against Cottey. Madeline Freeman had 15 assists in the Cottey match as well and became the fourth Mustang in history to eclipse 1,000 assists for her career. Smith carried the offensive load in the second match with a 13-kill, 10-dig double-double to help CBC run their winning streak to three straight. Adalyn Dura and Freeman also had double-doubles in the second match, with Dura posting 15 assists and 12 digs and Freeman posting 21 assists with her 12 digs. The Mustangs host Columbia in the first of two AMC matches on Friday at 3:30.
