CBC wrestling goes 1-3

BATESVILLE — Returning to the mat in state for the second consecutive Saturday, Central Baptist College wrestling was at the American Midwest Conference/Sooner Athletic Conference Duals last Saturday hosted by Lyon College.

CBC went 1-3 on the afternoon with a win over Jarvis Christian in their second match.Individually, CBC had an outstanding day, earning at least two wins in each dual. Against Texas Wesleyan in the first match, Brian Mas earned a win by fall at 149 pounds, Gregory Pierre-Louis earned a win by forfeit at 197 pounds and Darron Harvey earned a win by fall at heavyweight. In the second match, a 42-0 win over Jarvis Christian, David Corretjer earned a win by forfeit at 125 pounds, Isaiah Hendrix earned a win by forfeit at 141 pounds, Alejandro Mas earned a win by fall at 149 pounds, Christian Richer earned a win by fall at 165 pounds while Joshua King, Pierre-Louis and Antwon Singleton earned forfeit wins at 174, 197 and 285 pounds, respectively.

In the third match, against Oklahoma City, Corretjer won by injury default, Pierre-Louis earned his third forfeit win and Harvey earned a 12-6 decision. In the final dual of the day against Missouri Baptist, Alejandro Mas won by forfeit at 149, King won by 6-5 decision at 174, Pierre-Louis won by fall at 197 and Singleton won by 3-2 decision at heavyweight.
