23 Apr 2025 CBC wraps up AMC schedule with road sweep of mission
OZARK, Mo. – Playing their final road doubleheader of the season this afternoon, Central Baptist College softball took on new American Midwest Conference rival Mission University today at the Ozark Sports Complex. CBC (26-22, 15-7 AMC) finished their road schedule with a sweep of MU (14-34, 4-16 AMC) winning game one 7-3 before shutting out the Patriots 5-0 in game two.

GAME ONE – CBC 7, MISSION 3
CBC struck quickly in the first on an RBI squeeze by Kori Truelove that scored Madalyn Tubbs and made it 1-0. Tubbs extended the lead to 2-0 with a double in the third and then she scored ahead of a single by Elizabeth Stoufer to make it 3-0. Mission tied the game in the fourth to chase starter Alex Jeter, but reliever Isabella Sawyers struck out the final batter of the inning to give the Mustangs a chance to retake the lead. CBC finally capitalized in the fifth when Tubbs brought home another run with another double to take a 4-3 lead and Kinley Johnson gave the Mustangs insurance with a sac fly to left that made it 5-3. The final two runs scored on a single by Truelove in the seventh. Jeter did not factor in the decision, pitching three-and-two-thirds innings while allowing two hits and three runs with a walk. Sawyers picked up the win, pitching the final three-and-one-third, allowing just four hits with a K.
GAME TWO – CBC 5, MISSION 0
CBC scored in the first inning again in game two thanks to a wild pitch that brought home Madalyn Tubbs. The score remained 1-0 until the fifth when Taylyn Shuffield brought home Kaylee Harp, who led off the inning with a double, to make it 2-0. Johnson would single home two in the sixth with a hard single down the line and pinch runner Corina Garcia scored the final run on another wild pitch. That was more than enough run support for Ryleigh Keele, who threw her first career complete game shutout, scattering eight hits while allowing just one walk with a pair of strikeouts.
