CBC women’s basketball schedule released

CONWAY — A new era begins for Central Baptist College women’s basketball as new head coach Kory Heffentrager has announced the 2024-25 schedule for her squad. The schedule includes 30 games with four exhibitions and 12 games in front of the fans at A.R. Reddin Fieldhouse.

“This year’s schedule presents a lot of really good teams,” said Heffentrager. “There is not a single game and can look at and say, that’s a win. I know the girls are excited to step up to the challenge. They’re ready to come together and battle each game. Our conference is a tough one and we know that every game is important to prepare us for later in the season.”

The season begins on Oct. 29 in Mississippi against Blue Mountain Christian and will mark the first time since 2014 that CBC has opened the season prior to November and only the second time since joining the NAIA in 2010.

November begins with a road game at Champion Christian on the second and is followed by road exhibition games against Louisiana-Monroe and Little Rock. Randall will be the opponent on the 14th with a location still to be determined. Both the home opener and American Midwest Conference opener are on the 21st when CBC hosts William Woods followed by another AMC contest against UHSP on the 23rd. A third exhibition game takes place at the Farris Center on the 25th when the Lady Mustangs take on UCA before the month wraps up on the 26th with a home game against Blue Mountain Christian, the only non-conference home game of the season.

Five games are on the December schedule beginning with a pair of AMC road tilts against Cottey and Missouri Baptist on the fifth and seventh followed by home games on the 12th and 14th against new AMC member Mission University and Harris-Stowe State. The month wraps up with the final exhibition game of the season on the 19th in Ruston, La., against Louisiana Tech.

The first game of 2025 will be on Jan. 7 at home against new conference rival Crowley’s Ridge, followed by a road game at Williams Baptist on the ninth and a home game against Hannibal-LaGrange on the 11th. The Lady Mustangs begin a four-game road trip on the 16th with a trip to Columbia followed by a matchup with Stephens on the 18th to wrap up the first half of the conference schedule. The second half begins with a trip to Fulton, Mo., on the 23rd against William Woods and is followed by a trip to St. Louis on the 25th to take on UHSP. The month finishes with a home game against Cottey on the 30th

February opens with the homecoming game against Missouri Baptist on the first, which is followed by a trip to Springfield, Mo., to take on Mission on the sixth and a return home for Harris-Stowe on the eighth. CBC heads to Paragould on the 11th for the return trip to Crowley’s Ridge before hosting Williams Baptist on the 13th and the final road contest of the season on the 15th at Hannibal-LaGrange. The final two games on the schedule are at home on the 20th against Columbia and for Senior Day on the 22nd against Stephens. The AMC Tournament quarterfinals begin on Feb. 28.
