Four separate locations – Four Central Baptist College programs: volleyball, men’s basketball, women’s basketball and wrestling were in action in various locations on Saturday.

Here is how everything turned out:
CBC 3, UHSP 0; COLUMBIA 3, CBC 1
Volleyball avenged an earlier loss to UHSP by beating them in straight sets in the first match today. Avary Smith and Aubree Ruggles were the co-kills leaders with 10 each while Madeline Freeman led with 20 assists and Smith led in digs with 20. The Mustangs made history in the second match, taking a set from Columbia for the first time ever. Smith had 12 kills, Freeman had 20 assists and Ava White led with 20 digs while CBC had a season-high 13 total blocks against the Cougars. The Mustangs earned the five seed in next week’s AMC tournament and will take on Mission in the quarterfinals next Friday morning at 10 a.m., inside the Bradley Beal Center in St. Louis.
WAYLAND BAPTIST 95, CBC 87
An offensive shootout broke out in Plainview, Texas, today with both teams shooting over 50 percent from the field. In a game that featured four lead changes, Jason Hunt had 26, Caleb Knight finished with a season-high 18 and Dalton Alexander III had 17 points and a team-high seven rebounds. The Mustangs wrap up their five game road trip at John Brown next Saturday with tipoff from Bill George Arena slated for 3:05.
LOUISIANA CHRISTIAN 95, CBC 81
Playing the Wildcats for the second consecutive Saturday, the Mustangs went into H.O. West Fieldhouse in Pineville, La., looking for their second win. Missing four starters due to injury, Raigan Head did what she could, scoring 25 points and grabbing 13 rebounds in a losing effort. Cammi Christie also had 17 points, Emma Welch had 14 and Destry Steele put up a season-high 13 in her first career start. The Lady Mustangs take on the Louisiana-Monroe Warhawks in an exhibition game next Friday in Monroe.
WRESTLING AT CARL ALBERT OPEN
The Mat Mustangs were in Poteau, Okla., today for the Viking Open at Carl Albert State College. Maddox Atkins had a win at 133 pounds, Mason Nguyen posted two wins at 149, Jourdan Reeves had a win (in 11 seconds) at 197 and Elijah Nichols had a win at heavyweight during the tournament. CBC heads to Batesville next week for a tri-dual at Lyon with the hosts and Louisiana Tech.
