CBC places fifth at Spring Invitational

CABOT — Sitting within striking distance of the overall lead after 36 holes, Central Baptist College men’s golf looked to capture their third tournament win of the season at their own Spring Invitational at Cypress Creek Golf Course on Tuesday. CBC closed with a final round 304 and finished fifth with a score of 927, 25 shots behind the winners from Mineral Area College.

Individually, Paul Gomez posted a top 10 finish, placing seventh after closing with a 76 for a total score of 225. Cooper Hermann was next after closing with a 79 to total a 230 while Jakub Slapal closed with a 73 for a total score of 232, followed by Jack Higginbotham with a 76 for a total score of 240 and Gustavo Bello, who closed with an 82 for a 255 overall. Preston Nestorenko, who played as an individual, closed with a 79 to shoot a 246 total.

The Mustangs are back on the course in April when they head to Tennessee for the Lions Spring Classic.
