CBC drops overtime heartbreaker to Mission

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – Playing for the first time in the 2026 calendar year, Central Baptist College women’s basketball took on the Mission University Patriots Tuesday in an American Midwest Conference contest at W.E. Dowell Fieldhouse.

CBC (4-7, 1-2 AMC) led 27-13 after one quarter but ended up falling to MU (6-7, 2-1 AMC) 88-87 in overtime.

Raigan Head and Addison Hudspeth both had double-doubles, with Head dropping 30 points and grabbing 16 rebounds while Hudspeth had 15 points and 13 rebounds. Anslee Ballew also finished in double figures with 16 points and CBC outrebounded Mission 61-45, marking the first 60-plus rebound game for the Lady Mustangs in four years (67 vs. Bacone on Jan. 4, 2022).

The Lady Mustangs are back on the road today, Jan. 8, when they take on Hannibal-LaGrange at the Mabee Sports Complex. Tipoff is scheduled for 1 p.m.
