29 Nov 2023 CBC Baseball releases 2024 schedule
CONWAY — Coming off a run to a third-place finish in last year’s American Midwest Conference tournament, Central Baptist College baseball head coach Dr. Aaron Brister has announced the 2024 schedule for the Mustangs. The 50-game schedule includes 22 home games at Burns Park in North Little Rock and a 21 game American Midwest Conference schedule.
“I’m really excited about our schedule,” said Brister. “We have some similar non-conference games as last season with Philander Smith, Southwestern Assemblies of God, Crowley’s Ridge, Ecclesia, Baptist Bible and Texas A&M-Texarkana. This year we are adding Dallas Christian and Champion Christian back into the mix and we have two opponents that we have never played in my tenure as the coach in non-conference Wiley and new AMC program UHSP. I think we have a really good chance to make another splash in the AMC and we’re looking forward to another great year!”
The season opens on Feb. 6 at noon when the Mustangs head to Little Rock for a doubleheader with Philander Smith. A tournament in Farmer’s Branch, Texas, follows that weekend before the Mustangs open their home schedule with another doubleheader against Philander Smith, this time on the 13th. A four-game road trip to Texas follows with three games at SAGU on the 16th and 17th and a single-game at Texas A&M-Texarkana on the 20th. The month concludes at home when the Mustangs host Wiley on the 23rd and 24th.
March opens with a four-game series against Baptist Bible on the first and second followed by a home game against Crowley’s Ridge on the fifth. CBC then heads to Springdale for four games against Ecclesia on the eighth and ninth before returning home for a single against Champion Christian on the 12th. The first AMC series of the season is on the 15th and 16th when the Mustangs take on the William Woods Owls in Fulton, Mo. The following weekend, CBC will take on the UHSP Eutectics for the first time ever in St. Louis before ending the month at home against Missouri Baptist.
April begins with a road game at Crowley’s Ridge on the second followed by a three-game AMC series against Harris-Stowe State. A doubleheader against Champion Christian follows on the ninth before the penultimate AMC road series against Columbia on the 12th and 13th. The final midweek contest of the season is a home game against Texas A&M-Texarkana on the 16th before the final AMC road series the following weekend at Hannibal-LaGrange. The regular season concludes with the final home series of the season against Williams Baptist on the 25th and 26th with Senior Day prior to the game on the 26th.
