12 Jun 2024 CBC announces 2024 soccer schedule
CONWAY – Central Baptist College men’s soccer head coach Dylan Perdue has announced the 2024 schedule for his CBC Mustangs. The schedule includes 17 games and one exhibition, with nine games in front of the home fans.
“We created a schedule that will prepare us for American Midwest Conference play,” said Perdue. “Adding quality NAIA programs was our top priority when scheduling started last November. Central Methodist, John Brown, Oklahoma City and Texas A&M-Texarkana are all programs who compete at a high level and will force our team to rise to the occasion. We also added Ouachita Baptist and University of the Ozarks which will have us competing against more teams in the state and hopefully bring a lot of Arkansans together to enjoy local college soccer. Of course, the AMC will be tough with Williams Baptist coming off back-to-back regular season championships, Columbia, who is dominant every year, and Willliam Woods, who plays a beautiful style of soccer. I believe that there are a lot of exciting aspects going into the year and we will be a team that a lot of people will be on the lookout for.”
The season kicks off on August 24 when the Mustangs host the Little Rock Rangers of the UPSL in an exhibition game. The regular season opener is on Monday the 26th when CBC hosts Central Methodist and the final game of August is the first road game of the season on the 30th in Jackson, Miss., against NCAA Division III program Millsaps.
September opens with a trip to Siloam Springs on the third to take on John Brown before CBC plays at home for the only time during the month against Texas A&M-Texarkana on the seventh. Four straight matches on the road follow that, beginning on the 13th against Tougaloo, the 17th against Oklahoma City, the 21st against Ozarks culminating with the AMC opener against UHSP on the 29th.
October opens with a home game on the first against NCAA Division II opponent Ouachita Baptist, followed by the final non-conference match of the season against another DII school, Christian Brothers University on the fifth. The final stretch of seven AMC contests begins against Harris-Stowe at home on the 12th followed by two matches in Missouri, against Missouri Baptist on the 15th and Hannibal-LaGrange on the 19th. A midweek home game against Williams Baptist follows on the 22nd before the final road game of the season against Columbia on the 26th. The final two home games follow with new AMC foe Mission on the 29th and the William Woods Owls on November second.
