“Last year was a great year that could have been a little better,” Coach Michael Malham said. “Our semi-finals loss to Har-Ber was disappointing for one of our best senior classes in a long time, but winning the 7A-Central two years in a row was a great achievement for those outgoing seniors.

”The Panthers return a talented running attack. Senior Spencer Smith (5-9, 190) returns at fullback in the Wing T. Smith rushed for 1,006 yards and 15 touchdowns last fall on 169 carries. Classmate Jeremy Berry (5-7, 175) returns at halfback after rushing for 468 yards and four touchdowns in 2009.

Defensively the Panthers will be led by senior Riley Hawkins (6-1, 200) at linebacker. Riley posted 61 tackles last fall. Senior Jared Dumais (6-2, 235) is back at defensive tackle after a four-sack 2009 campaign. Senior Ethan Covington (5-11, 165) also had four sacks last fall, and he’s back at defensive end. Logan Spry (5-11, 190) returns at safety. The senior had 31 tackles and three interceptions a year ago.
