Cabot Police Department Foundation Awards inaugural scholarship

The Cabot Police Department Foundation is proud to announce the recipients of its first annual scholarship, awarded to outstanding Cabot High School seniors Kaitlyn Spencer and Paxton Crum. Each student received a $1,000.00 scholarship in recognition of their community and civic involvement, academic achievement, leadership, and commitment to future success.

This inaugural 2025 Cabot Police Department Foundation Scholarship was presented in memory of former Cabot Police Department Detective Christian Weir, who passed away in February 2024. Detective Weir was a 2018 graduate of Cabot High School, a dedicated member of the Cabot Police Department, and served honorably in the U.S. Marine Corps Reserves.

In honor of Detective Weir’s legacy of service, integrity, and community involvement, the scholarship was open to all Cabot High School seniors pursuing further education at a college, vocational, technical, or trade school.

The awards were formally presented during National Police Week on May 13 at the Cabot Justice Center, located at 805 W. Main Street. In attendance were the families of the scholarship honorees, Cabot Police Department officers, and the family of Christian Weir.

The Cabot Police Department Foundation congratulates Kaitlyn and Paxton and proudly honors Detective Weir’s memory by investing in the next generation of leaders.
