13 Nov 2023 Burns Park reopens portion of Funland Drive
NORTH LITTLE ROCK — The City of North Little Rock is pleased to announce the opening of the top loop around Funland Drive in Burns Park. The area has been closed since tornados hit the region on March 31.
Now open on Funland Drive/Joe K. Poch Drive in Burns Park:
- Dog Park (including restroom near the Dog Park)
- Disc Golf: Eighteen (18) holes between Dog Park and Funland.
- Equestrian trail: Parking will be available at the softball complex. Riders will need to trailer at this location and proceed from there. Water will be available across the interstate as usual.
- One Heart Park
- Rocket slide
- Pavilions
- DeJanis Boys High School Baseball Field
- Girls High School Softball Field
- Softball Complex
- Baseball complex
Next phase to open:
- Tournament Drive to the soccer complex, including Catfish and Goalie Roads, as soon as roads are completed.
- Soccer complex
- The River Trail restroom on Tournament Drive will open in the next few days.
Visitors are asked to stay out of areas closed for their safety as we work toward reopening these areas:
- Road work will be ongoing on Arlene Laman Drive which includes the Covered Bridge, walking trails, archery range, BMX track, and Boy Scout area. This work will continue through the winter months.
- Funland will remain closed to the public while plans are made for the future.
