26 Sep 2012 Browning makes top six at ISSF World Cup final in Slovenia
Kayle Browning of Wooster won a bronze medal at the International Shooting Sports Federation World Cup earlier this spring and punched her ticket to compete in the World Cup Final in Slovenia.
Browning, competing with an invite-only crowd of the best in the world, finished sixth overall with 84 out of 100 targets.
Headed into the final, Browning was tied for sixth with Italy’s Giulia Iannotti at 67 of 75 targets. Browning hit 17 of 25 targets in the final, just one shy of Iannotti’s 18, to finish sixth overall. Finalnd’s Satu Makela-Nummela took home the gold medal with an impressive 93 out of 100 targets. Jessica Rossi of Italy was second with 92 and Jana Beckmann of Germany won the bronze with 91 targets.
Browning’s teammate, 2008 Olympic bronze medalist Corey Cogdell of Eagle River, Alaska, was 10th overall with 64 of 75 targets. Cogdell started strong with 22 of 25 targets, but had trouble with the second round, shooting 19 targets.
