Book signing doubleheader scheduled at Faulkner county library

“A Century of Conservation,” the photo history of the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission, will be part of a book signing doubleheader from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, April 28, at the Faulkner County Library in Conway. The event will be at 1900 Tyler St.

The other book at the signing, written by Dr. Donna Stephens, is “If It Ain’t Broke, Break It,” subtitled “How Corporate Journalism Killed the Arkansas Gazette.”

Joe Mosby wrote the text of “A Century of Conservation” which tells of the creation of the Game and Fish Commission in 1915 and the rise of conservation in the state.

Donna Lampkin Stephens, PhD, wrote the book on the demise of the Arkansas Gazette, the oldest newspaper west of the Mississippi River. Stephens is a 501 LIFE contributor.

Both authors are Conway residents, and they were members of the Gazette’s sports staff.

Copies of the two books will be available for purchase at the signing.
