29 Sep 2014 Beyond Hunger scheduled at Heifer Ranch

Beyond Hunger is a free event scheduled 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 4, at Heifer Ranch, 55 Heifer Road in Perryville.

Special guest speaker will be Mahendra Lohani, vice president of Heifer International’s Asia and Europe Programs. The family-friendly event includes an opportunity to walk through the rural beauty of the 1200-acre working ranch, visit the animals in the show barn, walk the Global Village trail, partake in fun and educational activities and learn a new skill at a hands-on demonstration.   

Tickets for lunch in the dining hall can be purchased at the gift shop.

Special activities will be scheduled at specific times, including a cake reception in the afternoon and a “Year of the Family Farmer” tour showcasing examples of best practices for small-holder farms.
