Classification: 5-3A
Coach: Jimmy “Red” Parker
Last Season: 4-6 (2-5)
In just its second season playing football, Benton Harmony Grove doubled its win total last year to four games and hopes to use its experience to reach the playoffs this season for the first time in school history.
Veteran coach Jimmy “Red” Parker has multiple options at quarterback this year, including junior Zane Anderson (6-1, 160) and sophomores Fisher Arnesen (5-11, 195) and Tyler Hamilton (5-9, 155).
Senior Ben Misenheimer (5-10, 180) and junior Ben Barber (6-0, 160) have gained valuable experience at receiver and are expected to put up big numbers this year.
Senior Cameron Byrd (5-8, 175) is expected to handle the bulk of the carries for the Cardinals, while junior Nick Johnson (5-11, 160) promotes to fullback.
Both lines have improved during the offseason. Juniors Cody Kitchens (6-1, 225) and Cody Crain (5-11, 220) and sophomore Cody Roush (6-0, 220) will see time on each line. Senior Chad Hardy (5-10, 180), Arnesen and Byrd will serve as linebackers.
