Bauxite’s 4A struggles continued in 2011.
Although the Miners opened the season with a 26-7 win over rival Glen Rose, their season took a turn for the worse with nine straight losses to end the season, finishing 1-9 for the second consecutive year.
Junior Jordan Branson (6-0, 175) will start at quarterback this year. Senior Preston Barnes (6-1, 160) and junior Trent Taylor (6-0, 150) should spell each other at receiver. The other receivers include senior Aaron Blakely (5-9, 170) and junior Trent Rooks (5-11, 165).
Seniors Dylan Herron (5-6, 145) and Garret Wilcox (5-10, 185) should share the workload in the running game. Working the offensive line this year will be seniors Cody Allred (5-11, 245), Tanner Morrison (6-2, 220) and Tyler Willis (5-10, 210) and juniors Ethan Hendrix (5-10, 210) and Dakota Turner (5-10, 250).
Senior Jacob Page (6-1, 215) plays defensive end and is joined by juniors Justin Clifton (6-0, 195) and Jay Reader (5-7, 200) and senior Jeremy Reader (5-10, 235) on the defensive line.
