11 Aug 2013 BALD KNOB: Bulldogs plan return to playoffs under new head coach

The Bulldogs started 2-3A play last season with a close win at Riverview, 21-20. The next week, Bald Knob lost to Mayflower in one of the craziest games of the year, 57-53. The Bulldogs just couldn’t find a way to shut any offenses down, losing every game until the Week 10 closer at Perryville.
Senior Malachi Watson returns to lead the Bulldog offense at running back. Sergio Hernandez anchors the offensive line with senior leadership, and junior Jake Smith is the only other returning starter on the line at tackle.
Senior Brady Zomant is a force on the interior defensive line at tackle, and senior Deion Johns is poised for a great year at defensive end. Hernandez also provides leadership at linebacker. Senior Josh Hancox rotates between linebacker and the secondary, and senior Bry Watson projects as one of the starting cornerbacks.
Randy Johnston takes over as Bald Knob’s head coach after serving as defensive coordinator for the team since 2006.
