The Jeff Jones Family is beating the heat this summer and enjoying time together in a new pool at their Hattieville (Conway County) home.
The family decided to move from what Jeff calls a “Redneck pool” to a custom-built pool that has provided a lot of fun and relaxation. “The enjoyment I have gotten out of it has been 10-fold,” he said, adding that he encourages others who enjoy water fun to consider a pool. “Don’t think it is out of the realm of possibility. It’s well worth it.”
Jeff shopped around for a company to build the pool and selected Luxury Pool & Spa in Conway. Construction began in April and the pool was completed in time for the family to enjoy their first dip in early June. “It went a lot quicker than I was anticipating,” he said.
Initially, Jeff considered a pool with a liner but had second thoughts when he considered the potential damage that could be done by one of the family dogs or outdoor furniture blown into the pool by a storm. He opted instead for a Gunite pool, made of a cement and sand mixture, that allowed for a custom design.
“With Gunite, you can tell the contractor what you want and the shape,” Jeff said.
The Jones pool is in an S-shape and features a lagoon style. It has a bench at the mid-point, a perfect place to watch kids swim. There is also a slide and water fall. “It’s pretty neat,” Jeff said.
The pool also has salt water instead of chlorine. “It is so much easier on hair and eyes,” Jeff said. “It’s amazing how much softer the water is.”
Jeff has been very pleased with the end result and the customer service he received from Luxury. He added that Luxury Pool even has a class on maintenance of the pool.
“We’re really happy with it,” he said, adding that his wife and two children are enjoying the pool. “I can’t keep my daughters out of it,” he added with a laugh.
