20 May 2013 'Backyard Gourmet' planned at FCL
The “Backyard Gourmet” – a community potluck to celebrate local food and sustainable living ideas – is planned 5 to 8 p.m. Saturday, June 8, at the Faulkner County Library.
Those attending are encouraged to “be green” and bring their own utensils.
Oak Street Bistro and ZaZa, two local restaurants that support sustainable dining, will offer samples of delicious local food. Fire & Brimstone, Don’t Stop Please and a contra-dancing group will inspire participants to dance the night away. A presentation about a soon-to-be-established seed library is also planned.
Copies of "Backyard Gourmet," a community cookbook featuring great recipes using fresh, local food will be available for purchase at $15 each.
This event is sponsored by the Faulkner County Library, the Faulkner County Museum, La Lucha Space and the Urban Farm Project.
All library events are free and open to the public. For more information, call the library at 501.327.7482 email [email protected] or check out Facebook and Twitter.
